In this project, I would highlight a certain portion of the the face on the picture (it would have to be a polygon with limited sides), specifically a portion with major color difference. You would then apply the "average blur" filter. This would set the selected portion to one solid color. The reason I chose this project is because, while tedious, looked to be a lot of fun to actually create. The other options were easier, but this truly seemed like an interesting process, and one I might be proud of as well. This style of art can portray a feeling of simpleness, which I feel is very important. With different style, it can communicate that a man or woman is much more simple than they let off. But, beyond all else, it looks cool.

In this project, we were tasked to create an aesthetically pleasing logo that would combine our initials into a design. For example, my initials are "G.T.M", and I used them to create this logo. The G and M are fairly obvious, but the T is also created through the stem of the G. At first, we had a blank sheet of paper, where we would sketch all the ideas we could until we found the one we wanted to use, as you can see to the right

In this project, we made a political cartoon to reflect a political message relating to technology In Stephen Sellers class, we wrote an Op-Ed to go along with, but that wasn't this project. My Op-Ed was pushing the message of Net Neutrality, and how the lack of it is problematic for everyone with internet access. It was simple and straightforward, but I think it works well. It involves a poor person with a computer trying to find jobs online, but because of the lack of Net Neutrality, the website he needed to go to was blocked. He would have to pay to access it. I did not illustrate it,rather I used photoshop to add a cartoon filter. If I had tried drawing it, it would have been very sloppy. However, I do think it helped me understand photoshop, and namely what it can be used for in the context beyond my own enjoyment. |
Teacher CreatureThe layers I used for this picture are:
-Kyle Edmonson -A pineapple -A splash of water -The Grimm Reaper -Spiderman -A landscape -An orange sky -An eagle When I first came into this class, I had prior knowledge of Photoshop from middle school. However, over the summer, I forgot most things I knew. This class was both a refresher, and also taught me many knew things, such as refining edges, different paint types, and many more tools to help make a picture stand out. |
